How can I make dresses out of recyclable materials (cardboard, bubble wrap, aluminium foil...)?

I have this project for school where I need to make dresses out of used recyclable materials in order to "help save the environment". How can I get the materials to stay one the dress? And do I need a base to assemble the dress? What materials are most practical? I have no idea where and how to start... please helppp!!
