What materials are used to make the stages for fashion catwalks?? please help!?

i'm looking at fashion catwalks for graphics A2 coursework as i want to design a sort of "mobile" catwalk which can be transported and easily set up around the country to perform shows , has anyone got any idea of what materials are used for the staging and why??
